MLB trade rumors: Trevor Bauer sent to Reds, Yasiel Puig to Indians in 3-team deal involving Padres

The Reds have added a starter.

Cincinnati has acquired Trevor Bauer in a three-team trade involving the Padres, according to ESPN.

As part of the deal, the Indians will receive Yasiel Puig and top prospect Taylor Trammell will go to the Padres.

The Indians will also get outfielder Franmil Reyes and pitcher Logan Allen from San Diego, according to The Athletic. They will also get minor league pitcher Scott Moss from the Reds and 19-year-old Victor Nova from the Padres, according to MLB.com.

Cleveland had been in the market for outfielders in recent days and was connected to Domingo Santana of the Mariners.

Puig was linked to the Braves but the Indians were clearly in contact, too, and were able to add a much-needed bat to their lineup. They were also able to land Reyes, who was losing at-bats to Hunter Renfroe in San Diego, so he was expendable for the Padres.

In addition, by adding Allen, the Indians can make up for losing Bauer in the short run. Allen has had some time in MLB already.
