Brad Pitt gets a standing ovation from fans as he surprises Ellen as a guest in her studio audience

Brad Pitt makes a surprise cameo as an audience member on Friday’s edition of Ellen.

In a clip posted on The Ellen show’s Instagram, the A-list actor, 55, surprised host Ellen DeGeneres and her studio audience as he sat among them to catch the taping of the show.

‘Have a seat everybody, go ahead and catch your breath, Twitch,’ she told show DJ Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss, 36. ‘There’s something I want to talk about – I’m sorry, I’m kind of distracted right now.’

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star was clad in a button-up navy blue top with a black paperboy cap, sporting his trademark goatee.

Pitt is coming off a summer promoting the Quentin Tarantino period piece, for which he’s racked up rave reviews for his performance as Cliff Booth, the sidekick/stunt double for fading actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio).

The Booth character was based on Burt Reynolds’ longtime stunt double, the late Hal Needham.

Pitt’s upcoming film is Ad Astra, a space drama that co-stars Liv Tyler, Ruth Negga, Tommy Lee Jones and Donald Sutherland.

Pitt was a number of famous faces present for Ellen’s premiere week as the show kicked off the new fall TV season. Other guests included Melissa McCarthy, Sean Hayes, Kris and Kylie Jenner, Reese Witherspoon, and Chrissy Teigen, fresh off her viral Twitter taunting of President Donald Trump as ‘a pu**y a** b***h.’

Ad Astra hits theaters September 20.
